Head of Franchise Operations

Work Location: Remote, with some travel to franchise sites

Duration: Direct Hire

The Head of Franchise Operations is responsible for developing and executing brand strategies to drive growth and profitability for our client's brands. This role involves leading and coaching franchisees to achieve business objectives, ensuring compliance with brand standards, and fostering strong relationships with large franchisees. Key areas of focus include sales, profits, operations, product management, store builds, acquisitions, and remodels.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the EVP, Brand Operations to develop and implement brand-specific strategies for growth and expansion.
• Build and maintain strong business relationships with franchisees.
• Oversee the franchise compliance program, ensuring adherence to Brand Operational Standards, franchise agreements, and relevant regulations.
• Work with cross-functional teams to collect and analyze franchisee financial information, assess performance, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with the legal department to update franchise disclosure documents in response to changes in franchise law or company policy.
• Assess and forecast key profitability drivers.
• Analyze franchise business performance to identify potential consolidation opportunities.
• Partner with the Head of Operations Excellence to ensure franchisee compliance with Brand Operational Standards and provide support.
• Communicate directly with franchisees in default to determine resolutions for issues such as lease defaults, bad debt, and salon closures.
• Inform and educate franchisees on new company programs and support strategies, including technology, merchandising, and promotions.
• Oversee daily business activities, ensuring operational efficiency, policy implementation, and budget management.
• Formulate and deliver timely communications to franchisees.
• Handle escalations that the Franchise Performance Support team cannot resolve.
• Undertake other projects as assigned by the EVP, Brand Operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or 5-7+ years of equivalent business experience (e.g., business ownership, management, or consulting).
• Experience in a franchise organization with knowledge of franchise operations.
• Experience with brand standards and compliance in a franchise setting.
• Proven ability to influence others through coaching and accountability.
• Strong data interpretation skills to develop creative solutions for improving franchisee performance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present information engagingly and understandably.
• Strong conflict management, analytical, and time management skills.
• Ability to travel as required for franchise meetings, conferences, and store visits.
