Job Details:
Responsible for live production finishing of company-owned turkeys on contract farms as directed by the Senior Manager of Farm Operations. Direct the Contract growers in their daily duties by monitoring the health of the company-owned turkeys while working to make the Company a least cost producer. The Finishing Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring the poult moves, utility usage, litter quality, and medication usage on the assigned sites.
What You'll Do:
Leadership and Grower Support
- Train and mentor contract growers in farm operations, building strong relationships.
- Monitor flock health, administer medications and vaccines, and optimize growth conditions.
- Implement and manage ventilation programs for bird comfort and performance.
- Coordinate poult moves, equipment logistics, sampling, and scheduling activities.
- Provide technical expertise and ensure compliance with company protocols and regulations.
Bird Health and Welfare
- Diagnose flock health challenges through necropsies and implement effective solutions.
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues to maintain operational efficiency.
- Support vaccination programs, lab submissions, and uphold biosecurity measures.
- Ensure flocks meet corporate goals for livability, feed conversion, and costs.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor utility usage, litter quality, and equipment functionality on assigned sites.
- Complete audits and visit reports promptly and professionally.
- Promote and apply LEAN practices for continuous improvement.
- Stay up to date on disease recognition, lab procedures, and regulatory compliance, sharing expertise with the team.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in turkey production or a degree in a related field (preferred).
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with environmental controls, flock health management, and problem-solving.
- Computer literacy and the ability to train growers effectively.
- A valid driver's license and availability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including 24/7.
