ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
We are seeking a hardworking and determined Engineering student to join our team as a summer intern. Students are typically assigned a mentor who will direct their summer or co-op work experience. Work or project assignments will be commensurate with the student's academic background to take advantage of their technical expertise and provide real life application of their classroom knowledge. At the same time, opportunities will be provided for students to expand their knowledge outside the boundaries of their classroom experiences.
Typical roles our Engineer interns hold are:
- Process Engineer Roles
- Operations / Production Engineer Roles
- Project Management Roles
Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide support in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment
- Troubleshooting/Root Cause analysis
- Work with a mentor on project assignments which are commensurate with academic background
- Work with a mentor on project assignments outside of classroom curriculum to gain experience
- Apply classroom knowledge to real life applications while using technical expertise
- Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

- Successful completion on work/project assignments
- Gain application experience of curriculum
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSThis position has the following educational requirements:
- BA/BS Degree - Completed Sophomore year in an engineering program
Minimum Experience/Qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Possess or currently pursuing a degree in an Engineering
- Available to work a minimum of eight continuous weeks
- Must be willing to work in any of our Columbus manufacturing locations
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities (KSA's):
- Basic or Simple KSA
- Proficient/ Working KSA
- Advanced or Specialized KSA
- SolidWorks/AutoCAD (preferred)
- Fabrication, automation, & industrial experience (preferred)
