POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of the Student Conduct Office works to engage, educate and support students in persistence and success in reaching their educational, and professional development goals. The Director serves as the Chief Hearing Officer for the College, directing the Student Conduct Program, which includes case management, oversight for adjudication and due process. The director also works to procure culturally responsive student services that address the complex academic, social, emotional and academic needs in conjunction with the work of the Care Team and the Bit Team. The director is the primary expert in Maxient, the record management platform used by the Office of Student Conduct. The Director serves on the campus's Behavior Intervention Team (BIT). The position manages the processes for conduct adjudication and due process and the resolution for general complaints from students against other students, faculty members and/or staff. Office Duties - Maintain regular office hours, assist with phone calls and office work as needed, and attend staff meetings. Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the AAVP Student Life & Judicial Affairs, and in conjunction with Division of Student Affairs initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/EXPERIENCE
Master's Degree required and a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in administration or managerial skills in a related field dealing with students and compliance issues. Ability to: plan, organize, and supervise the work of staff and volunteers; gather and analyze data and situations aid in making appropriate decisions; establish and maintain a cooperative, productive, and effective working relationship with staff. Demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of Chattanooga State's students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and the community. Conflict mediation skills are necessary.
