POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Global Labor Relations will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of labor relations within the company. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in labor law, collective bargaining, conflict resolution, and strategic labor relations management. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of labor laws and regulations, and a proven track record of effectively managing labor relations in a large, publicly traded organization.

This position will be located at our Corporate HQ's in Westerville. Ohio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement the company's labor relations strategy in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Provide strategic counsel to senior management on labor relations issues, including collective bargaining, union negotiations, and conflict resolution.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Handle all facets of employee relations, including investigations and resolutions to employment disputes.
    • Proactively leads and drives positive employee relations programs and action planning across the country.
    • Provide employee relations support, guidance and direction to the HR organization and business leaders, with a particular emphasis on the administration of policies and compliance programs.
  • Union Relations and Negotiations:
    • Lead negotiations and manage relationships with labor unions and employee representatives.
    • Oversee the preparation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
    • Address and resolve labor disputes and grievances in a timely and effective manner.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
    • Monitor and assess potential risks related to labor relations and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Policy Development and Implementation:
    • Develop, review, and update labor relations policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that company policies are communicated effectively to employees and management.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor a team of labor relations professionals.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the labor relations team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Act as a liaison between the company and external labor relations stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and industry groups.
    • Represent the company in labor relations forums, conferences, and other industry events.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or Juris Doctor) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in labor relations or equivalent, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Proven experience managing labor relations in a publicly traded company or a global large, complex organization.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and best practices.
    • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
    • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
    • High level of integrity and professionalism.
