Job Description:

The DCIM Engineer will be part of a highly specialized team providing hardware support for an ever-changing data center. The team is responsible for the physical site and the compute assets housed within a large, complex facility.

While working with the team, the selected candidate will build on their existing skills in data center operations and hardware support as well as electrical and mechanical systems that support the critical operations. Graveyard shift Wednesday through Saturday 21:00 through 07:30.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Equipment installation, grounding, labeling, and removal/migration work.
  • Cable installation, cable mining, and cable identifying, labeling and testing.
  • Test/turn up procedures including Bert, RFC, and enhanced RFC testing of fiber optics or copper OSP circuits.
  • Assist with Data Service Operations Maintenance tickets as directed by DCIM and DSO-I teams.
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in AC powered equipment
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in test, trace, and extend circuits.
  • Perform full life cycle hardware support activities, including installations, decommissions and hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Coordinate contractor and management approvals for work orders that require the use of outside contractors. Maintain detailed logs of all work performed.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and formal change control processes to implement changes.
  • Interact with all parts of the organization to respond to a variety of service requests. Perform any and all work, to ensure the safety of the building's tenants and the continuous operation of the facility.
  • Maintain organized building files.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • May be on-call after regular scheduled hours.
Skills, Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 1-3 years previous critical data center operations engineering experience
  • Proficient computer and email skills
  • Basic troubleshooting skills of server, network, storage (SAN) hardware
  • Must have the ability to complete required safety classes that pertain to specific job duties
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment
  • Works well independently, as well as in a team
