WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking an experienced data engineer to join our Solutions and Insights team, focused on delivering new data integrations and processes to support business analysis and reporting. As VEG continues to grow rapidly, our technical overhead and business needs have become increasingly complex and require additional expertise to support data-driven, sustainable growth and continuous operational and financial success. This role will be a key contributor to enhancing our analytical capabilities by integrating new data sources into our data warehouse, creating new operational workflows and data processes, and performing data quality analysis to ensure consistency and reliability of all data.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, intellectual curiosity, high EQ, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive business success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain ELT pipelines and integrations with external data sources
  • Integrate new data sources into Snowflake data warehouse and DBT data vault architecture
  • Script logical workflows and business rules to transform raw data into analysis-ready database objects
  • Perform detailed QA analysis, ensuring that all data can be trusted by end users
  • Support advanced analytics use cases as needed (LLM tagging, audio transcription summarization, etc.)
  • Provide thought partnership on analytics use cases and the optimal data structures to support them
  • Contribute to team documentation to foster shared data understanding and support self-service analysis for end users

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • 3-5+ years of relevant data engineering experience required
  • Strong proficiency in relational data warehouse, ELT, and data vault concepts. Preferably with experience using Snowflake, Fivetran, and DBT Cloud
  • Expertise in writing complex SQL queries and utilizing Snowflake functions required. Python preferred as well
  • Experience with low code/no-code application development tools (Retool or equivalent) preferred
  • Deep familiarity with Snowflake platform and capabilities (Snowpipe, Streamlit apps, Cortex functions, etc.) preferred
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work and a strategic mindset
  • Hybrid work with availability to be present at White Plains, NY office 2-3 times per week preferred
