The Environmental Resilience Institute at Indiana University collaborates with Hoosiers and organizations throughout the region to better prepare Indiana and the Midwest for environmental changes that affect individuals, communities, businesses, and natural systems.
Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Aggregates, summarizes, and visualizes secondary date from multiple sources related to food, health, environmental, and agricultural systems.
- Consults with Biostatics Consulting Center on the creation of data collection tools to understand the motivations, barriers, and the needs of buyers, suppliers, and intermediary assets in the Indiana food system.
- Ensures integrity, accessibility, and accuracy of reports, dashboards, and data structures.
- Creates and disseminates data collection tools for food and environmental systems.
- Performs statistical data collection tools for food and environmental systems.
- Performs statistical analysis on collected data on an ongoing basis and consults with multiple data collectors to ensure information accuracy.
- Provides updates and reports to managers and grant reporting efforts.
- Collaborates with other staff and faculty to create visual representation of data through print and online sites.
- Conducts and writes case studies and visualization/dissemination of information.
- Documents data analysis efforts (data sources, reporting specifications, tools, issue/problem resolutions).
General Responsibilities
- Provides analysis of existing data and data structures and satisfies ad-hoc reporting/analysis requests.
- Creates reporting specifications for new reports/dashboards/analytical tools and assists in testing/validation; ensures integrity, accessibility, and accuracy of reports/dashboards and data structures; reviews and approves user requests for access to reporting data and tools.
- Consults with faculty and/or staff to identify new business reporting needs and provides guidance and interpretation of complex environments and data.
- Documents data analysis efforts (data sources, reporting specifications, tools, issue/problem resolutions).
- Researches and stays up to date on emerging technologies and data analysis tools.

EDUCATION
Required- Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science, information science, or related field)

Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Advertised Salary$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 annually
