Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) welcomes a dedicated professional with expertise in performing administrative intelligence and project management tasks. The chosen candidate should have strong interpersonal skills; an ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines; initiate, review, and manage projects; fuse, track and analyze data; research policy and best practices; identify and improve processes. This position is assigned to the Central Intelligence Unit (CIU) and will work out of the Reception and Treatment Center (RTC).

DUTIES:
Gather information from a variety of sources to include phone calls, video surveillance, electronic messages, contraband cellphones, facility reports and interviews. Helps keep people safe by analyzing information to create intelligence products to assist with daily operations and decision making. Helps identify trends and threats.
Monitors incarcerated individuals in a wide variety of situations and activities; monitoring may either be direct or indirect. Enforces facility rules and regulations governing the conduct of inmates/offenders. Documents incarcerated individuals' behavior, status, and movement. Searches incarcerated individuals' person, quarters, and work areas for contraband. Recommends improvements to security procedures when appropriate.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: At least 18 years of age; high school education or equivalent; valid driver's license; and must be able to legally possess a firearm and ammunition.
Preferred Qualifications: Two years corrections experience. Experience in developing and understanding trends in culture that affect organizations. Experience or knowledge of both street and prison gangs. Experience in gathering intelligence, and conducting interviews in a prison setting. Experience in preparing and interpreting statistical reports.
Other: Must have a valid driver's license. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
