CNC LINE OPERATOR - 3rd Shift

Line operator is an entry level position into CNC machining and requires no previous CNC experience. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a long term career in manufacturing that wants to develop the technical skills needed to succeed.

Working as a Line Operator you are responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining a CNC production line in a highly automated environment. This is a position that requires great attention to detail. Much of your day will be spent performing quality inspections to ensure that each and every part produced is perfect. One of the many things that makes this role so important is that often you will be the last person that handles the part before the customer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Operates machining equipment per specifications.
  • Reviews SWAT charts at the beginning of each shift to determine if a deviation has been added or any changes have been made.
  • Follows SWAT charts and online gauging instructions unless a deviation is attached.
  • Picks up all parts not in process flow (they are considered scrap and should be scrapped at the beginning of each shift).
  • Informs Shift Manager or Production Manager of any trash or parts left behind by previous shift.
  • Performs gauging during shift as designated by SWAT Chart.
  • Informs Shift Manager or Production Manager of downtime and scrap levels above designated threshold.
  • Completes paperwork including rework, re-inspection, and leak-test operations•
  • Completes hour by hour boards.
  • Achieves expected parts per hour (EPH).
  • Works weekends and overtime as required.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance, in accordance with scheduled work hours, and overtime(OT) as assigned.
  • Meets all physical and environmental requirements

REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Certifications/Licenses: None

Experience: 3-6 months experience as a CNC operator (non-manual CNC machines, Fanuc Controls); prior experience on Fuji, RoboDrill, and/or Makino preferred.
