Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: A clinically competent professional who directs and delivers care to a patient population, neonate to geriatric, as defined in unit-specific standards. Oversees clinical competence amongst all cardiovascular sonographers throughout the system. Provide daily supervisory oversight for cardiovascular sonographers within the UCH system. Assumes the leadership role in developing clinical protocols and educational forums for the cardiovascular sonographers. Assists the Director of the Heart & Vascular Institute in maintaining adequate staffing patterns, budgetary compliance and performance appraisals. Provides direct patient care within the individual's scope of practice based upon patient census, acuity and departmental staffing.
