Job Description Summary:
What you need to know about the role
This role will focus on driving revenue growth, forging new strategic partnerships and managing a portfolio of existing Xoom partners based in the LATAM region. Candidate will be working closely with key internal teams (Strategy, Finance, Product, Engineering, Legal, Risk/Compliance, etc..) to support and optimize existing partnerships and develop new business opportunities, including new crypto-related partnerships. Candidate will collaborate with Partner Engagement team to facilitate new partner onboarding and existing partner escalations.

Your way to impact

The position sits within the Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies business unit and will work closely with the leadership team of the business to bring the vision of an integrated business and team together. This role will involve frequent interaction with the Leadership team, as well as all other PayPal leaders and external stakeholders. In addition, this position will be working closely with commercial and product teams, to identify opportunities that will drive growth to the assigned markets & work closely with existing partnerships to optimize network reach, new opportunities, negotiate pricing reductions and improve service to the region. The position will help drive growth of partnerships that leverage PayPal's stablecoin as faster/cheaper rails for remittances.

Your day to day

In your day-to-day role, you will:

  • Lead cross border distribution network & partnerships across X regions
  • Lead crypto-remittance partnerships globally.
  • Business strategy to identify and cultivate strategic partnerships, channels, and opportunities to drive revenue growth and regional market expansion.
  • Identify expansion opportunities (new service and/or country offering) for traditional and crypto remittances.
  • Lead the negotiation with external partners, engaging cross-functional support colleagues, to ensure successful delivery of solutions for large complex partnerships.
  • Deep business development, negotiation, legal and/or regulatory experience, especially in fintech, crypto, or cross-border payments.
  • Alignment of product and business levers (eg pricing & FX)
  • Executes on strategy with an ability to share a clear view in leadership forums and with the cross-functional teams.
  • Engage closely with product & engineering to help drive the architectural runway and determine the best technical implementation/design while balancing time to market needs for critical customer pain points.
  • Collaborate and influence product outcomes in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.
  • As required, operational Support to Partner Relations Team

What do you need to bring
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience, particularly in the remittance and crypto industries
  • Experience influencing and aligning partners across different points of view or functions to drive action and change
  • Experience playing a similar commercial role in a multinational organization.
  • Multi-disciplined leader with strong analytical, strategic and operational acumen
  • Ability to make decisions and progress in the face of ambiguous and at times overlapping priorities IE managing complex deliverables and maintaining high-quality data standards while meeting project timelines.
  • Knowledge of (or experience with) retail financial services, money transfers, cross border payments, foreign currency exchange, or other global financial products or services.
  • Knowledge of (or experience with) retail crypto services, crypto on/off ramps, crypto transfers, stablecoins, or other global crypto products or services.
  • Understanding of international payment processing, the flow of money, and the role of different market participants (banks, processors, issuers, networks, etc..).
  • Understanding of international crypto processing, the flow of money, and the role of different market participants (exchanges, market makers, stablecoin issuers, etc..).Demonstrated ability to design, communicate, and implement effective business strategies in highly competitive industries (market positioning, strategic pricing, product differentiation, overcoming market barriers)
  • Experience with highly regulated industries and understanding of global regulatory expectations regarding KYC, BSA, anti-money laundering, OFAC sanctions, travel rule, etc..
  • International experience - ability to work and thrive in a culturally diverse environment/industry.
  • Organized with excellent project management skills.
  • High degree of professional confidence and credibility with effective presence, strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate and summarize key concepts clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to prioritize among many conflicting needs, advocate a course of action, and pursue it consistently.
  • Proven ability to develop effective, matrixed, cross-organization relationships, collaborating and communicating across business and technology stakeholders and multiple geographies.
  • Fluent Spanish is a must
