Business Development Manager, Aftermarket Parts

Location: Hybrid (Milwaukee)

Under the leadership of the Director, Aftermarket Parts and Services, the Business Development Manager - Aftermarket Parts (BDM - AMPS), will drive aftermarket business development in the areas including but may not be limited to genuine parts, accessories, tooling, and aftermarket offerings. The BDM is responsible for identifying and implementing channel partner processes and best practices in the areas of sales, marketing, business intelligence, e-commerce and promotional programs to achieve aftermarket sales growth.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development

  • Assist channel partners in identifying and developing growth initiatives. Professionally deliver presentations on Kohler Home Energy aftermarket product and solutions displaying capabilities and total value proposition of the Home Energy brand. Co-develop and execute parts and service subscription plans that secure product lifecycle attachment while yielding an ease-of-business experience for channel partners and end customers.
  • Actively participate in key initiatives or special projects as assigned and aligned with strategic growth objectives.
Market Management
  • Drive sales growth through channel partner visits and execution of strategies that effectively promote parts/accessory sales. Achieve an industry leading aftermarket lifetime value via product expertise, market trend analysis, lifetime penetration, and a realized year-over-year increase in average annual service revenues.
Business Intelligence / Customer Centricity
  • Develop and maintain a library of voice-of-the-customer tools and market intelligence data to prioritize tactical and strategic initiatives. Work with distribution channel leadership to serve as an advisor on parts business growth and profitability. Actively participate in channel partner advisory councils.
Issue Resolution
  • Act as liaison between channel partners and Aftermarket Parts in resolving parts issues as needed.
E-Commerce
  • Able to articulate the market trends and needs for e-commerce to identify opportunities and gaps for growth.
Genuine Parts Operations
  • Lead and develop a team of associates focused on delivering world-class genuine parts and accessory support for channel partners. Tasks include, but may not be limited to, project management, customer service operations, project engineering, material controlling, and inventory planning. Role will be accountable for managing assigned cost center and key performance metrics which align with strategic goals.
  • Actively coach, mentor, and set professional development plans for a team of high talent and performance team. Results shall achieve world-class channel partner and customer satisfaction.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
  • Supervisory Relationships: Reports to Director, Aftermarket Parts and Services, Kohler Home Energy.
  • Direct Reports: Role will include leading a team of approximately ten associates, five of which are direct reports specializing in project leadership, customer service, project engineering, planning, and material scheduling.
Organization Relationships:
  • Members of Sales, Supply Chain & Operations, Production, Engineering, Research and Development, Materials Control, Legal, Advertising, and Finance.
  • Marketing Department personnel including Product Managers, Channel Management, and all other company marketing personnel.
  • Members of leadership and peers across Rehlko business units beyond Home Energy.

External Business Relationships:
  • End customers, channel partners, engineers, suppliers, and subsidiaries.
  • Sales and technical representatives from outside the company.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and seminars.

Skills/Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field required. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years aftermarket parts sales experience in global manufacturing, OEM, or B2B environment preferred.
  • Customer relationship management and aftermarket sales experience in a global manufacturing environment preferred. Experience within power generation is a plus.
  • Candidate should be a strategic thinker, proactive, with good judgment and curiosity to identify and solve underlying business problems and develop business plans to grow aftermarket parts business.
  • Strong problem-solving, writing and presentation skills are required.
  • Must be goal oriented, result driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a passion for aftermarket growth and customer relationship management. Responsible for developing relationships and plans to grow parts sales with multiple distributorships.
  • Experience with SalesForce, Microsoft Office programs, analytics, and SAP a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time within North America and international markets as required.

The salary range for this position is $122,750 - $156,850. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
