Description:The Building Automation Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation systems, including HVAC, lighting, and security systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems and a commitment to ensuring the optimal operation of our facilities. This role is crucial in supporting our mission by maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
What you will do:

Installation and Maintenance:

  • Install, configure, and calibrate building automation systems, including HVAC controls, lighting controls, and security systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and system upgrades to ensure the reliability and efficiency of building automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults in automated systems, including diagnosing and resolving issues with wiring, sensors, and control panels.
System Monitoring and Optimization:
  • Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency and performance.
  • Analyze system data and reports to identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Work closely with other facilities staff to ensure seamless integration of automation systems with overall building operations.
Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
  • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for system operations and procedures.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and facilities staff to address complex issues and improve system performance.
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding system status, issues, and updates.
  • Provide training and support to other team members as needed.
Qualifications / Education and Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
  • Low Voltage Certification (e.g., Electrical Contractor License, Low Voltage Technician Certification) is mandatory.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in building automation systems, with a focus on low voltage systems.
  • Proven experience with HVAC control systems, lighting controls, and security systems.
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of building automation technologies and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts, as needed.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting equipment and working in various environmental conditions.
