Job Title: Customer Service Representative

Reports to: Supervisor, Customer Service

Salary: $25.37 - $33.48 per hour

Duration: Up to six months

Job Summary:

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) serves as the initial point of contact for the clients health's members and providers. In this role, you will assist members and providers with inquiries related to the Medi-Cal programs for Orange County. Your responsibilities include resolving member inquiries and complaints effectively, providing information on eligibility, enrollment, benefits, and services, and maintaining a focus on customer service, consistency, and accountability.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a mission-driven culture of high-quality performance, emphasizing customer service, consistency, dignity, and accountability.
  • Assist the team in carrying out departmental responsibilities and collaborate with colleagues to support short- and long-term goals.
  • Address member and provider inquiries, questions, and concerns related to eligibility, enrollment, claims, authorization status, benefit interpretation, and referrals/authorizations for medical care (both in-person and telephonically).
  • Communicate promptly and accurately to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Identify and communicate challenges while exercising professional judgment and adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
Experience & Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and one of the clients health's defined threshold languages (Arabic, Farsi, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese) is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position is also qualifying.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in customer/member service, including 1 year in a call center capacity.
  • Typing speed of 35 words per minute (WPM) required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and one of the clients Health's defined threshold languages (Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese) required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience in Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), Medi-Cal/Medicaid, or health services.
