Who We Are:

The Aerospace Systems Engineering Section in the Strategic Aerospace Department provides an array of engineering support for several US Air Force Global Strike Command and Department of Defense programs. We provide engineering services to projects involving the design, development and maintenance of systems for the strategic aerospace community, including aircraft and ground support equipment ranging from microcircuits to major subsystems. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a system level senior technical advisor for assigned weapon system.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Provides world-wide technical, logistical, acquisition, and sustainment advice under total system configuration control.
  • Provides system-level technical advice to include maintenance, and repair requirements for both contracts and organic workloads.
  • System-level logistic expertise to all customers to include data analysis to aid in procurement actions, excess disposal actions, repair requirements, reliability and maintainability actions.
  • System, sub-system, equipment, and component-level acquisition support to all customers to include development of technical documents, specifications, maintenance concepts, sustainment support and logistic elements.
  • Use independent judgment to provide technical assistance to field units, depots, and others, in resolving complex system/equipment maintenance, operation, fielding, sustainment and logistics problems.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • As an equipment specialist for assigned systems and acquisition program managed by SwRI, provide expert system and lower level technical advice and system logistical and sustainment support products for the repair, maintenance, operation and training related tasks.
  • Review, revise or develop initial technical publications, system inventory, and master records.
  • Provide functional equipment specialist and system/equipment technical advice and guidance to lower-graded government, organizational and contract equipment specialist.
  • Familiar with Government acquisition, Technical Order writing and government T.O. change(s) process.
  • Conduct, and/or execute the processes, procedures and policies related to the functional tasks and activities of a United States Air Force system-level equipment specialist.
Requirements:
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with experience as an Equipment Specialist.
  • 10 years: Experience providing support and guidance throughout an organization on methods of sustainment, acquisition, correcting deficiencies and resolving equipment problems with long term implications. Knowledge and experience of a wide range of maintenance concepts and principles.
  • 5+ years: Skill in providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and maintenance technicians; and developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working cooperatively as a member of the team.
  • Prior work experience in reading and understanding technical data, and incorporating tech data and solutions into technical manuals/orders.
  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data.
  • Basic Computer Skills and proven communication and time management skills.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Special Requirements:

Work assignment is in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
