The Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology at Cincinnati Children's is seeking an Assistant Professor or Staff Psychologist to join our team serving children and teens with eating disorders in full collaboration with the Division of Adolescent Medicine.

Responsibilities for this position include providing family, individual, and/or group evidenced-based treatment for youth and young adults presenting predominantly with anorexia nervosa, and bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder, and other specified feeding or eating disorder. They will participate in safe, effective, and compassionate clinical care. The individual can independently perform procedures, collect and analyze clinical data, and make decisions regarding patient care (e.g., initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, and prognosis).

The Eating Disorder Program at Cincinnati Children's is an interdisciplinary, multi-level program serving children, teens, young adults and their families affected by eating disorders. The outpatient program housed within the Division of Adolescent and Transition Medicine in partnership with the Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology, and Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, offers evidence based, coordinated treatment from a group of 10 physicians, 3 psychologists, 2 dietitians, 2 nurse care managers and a psychiatric APRN. Annual new patient volume approached 600 new cases and a medical stabilization unit at the CCHMC Liberty campus provided over 1,000 patient days of inpatient medical care to malnourished patients last year. Outpatient EDO services include medical treatment for complications of weight loss or purging, family therapy, individual therapy, one-on-one dieticianappointments, personalized meal plans and medication management.

The ideal candidate will have completed a doctorate in clinical or school psychology (APA accredited) and be licensed or license-eligible in Ohio. At a minimum, candidates should have experience with evidence-based treatment for eating disorders including family-based treatment (FBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT; experience with DBT and ACT would be optimal).

Candidates with postdoctoral training focused on eating disorders are preferred but not required. Additional preferred competencies include: 1.) understands and supports family-centered care, 2.) appreciates cultural differences and tailors treatment interventions to meet associated needs; and 3.) effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
