Job Summary
The Rustandy Center's mission is to advance research, promote innovation, and develop the people and practices to accelerate solving the social problems confronting our world. This position focuses on supporting the Rustandy Center's program goals to 1) equip Booth students and alumni to increase their social impact by applying their business and management skills, knowledge, and experience; and 2) be the leading university-based launch pad and knowledge center for the next generation of social entrepreneurs and the people who fund them.
The Associate Director of Programs and Data Strategy manages the design, planning, and administration for multiple Rustandy Center programs and oversees the development and overall quality of event and program data processes. Responsibilities include strategic planning, program development, event execution, research, and stakeholder engagement for both established and new programs. It is based on the Hyde Park campus with occasional events and meetings downtown and throughout the Chicagoland area.
Responsibilities
- Leads designing, planning and execution of multiple student- and alumni-facing social sector engagement programs. Specific programs within the Associate Director's portfolio may shift depending on team needs and student and alumni interests.
- Designs and develops events, experiential programming, and content to engage students and alumni in the social sector. These currently include but are not limited to the Civic Chicago program, Design Your Impact Journey workshop series, and philanthropy-related programming.
- Leads the development and execution of event series including Virtual On Board and Innovating for Social Equity in collaboration with Senior Director. Leads creation of experiential learning opportunities for specific audiences, such as Neubauer Civic Scholars, managing external stakeholder relationships
- Designs innovative new programming, especially in the area of Civic Engagement where the University has sharpened focus.
- Develops and facilitates workshops, discussions, and other content for students, alumni, and other key stakeholders.
- Evaluates and researches student and alumni needs, prospective partners' interests, and trends at the intersection of business and the social sector in order to evolve and develop impactful programming.
- In partnership with the Assistant Director for Events, manages all aspects of event execution, including space reservation, catering needs, attention to attendee needs, virtual event platforms, and coordination with audio visual and facilities teams,
- Works with the marketing team to promote events, programs and other social sector engagement opportunities to students and alumni, including creation of materials such as posters, brochures, flyers, surveys, etc.
- Supervises Assistant Director responsible for the newly funded ($1 million) and expanding Golub Capital Board Fellows Program and additional portfolio of nonprofit engagement programs.
- Oversees the design, execution, evaluation, and iteration of an expanded set of GCBF workshops and activities.
- Guides the Assistant Director's redesign of Alumni Board Connect program and new self-service portal for alumni, along with ongoing Nonprofit Leadership Circles for alumni.
- Leverages technical expertise to oversee the program team's usage of the Airtable platform, managing the data and processes that all of its programs and events are built upon. Supports event processes and evaluation, and assures full testing and quality of newer interfaces and tools. Manages process documentation and colleague training.
- Seeks input and feedback from program team colleagues and Center leadership on the development and refinement of these tools.
- Works with other Booth colleagues and University colleagues to share and develop best practices.
- Leverages technical expertise to oversee the program team's usage of the Airtable platform, managing the data and processes that all of its programs and events are built upon. Supports event processes and evaluation, and assures full testing and quality of newer interfaces and tools. Manages process documentation and colleague training. Seeks input and feedback from program team colleagues and Center leadership on the development and refinement of these tools. - Leads programming developed with executives in residence, using in-depth knowledge and experience to collaborate on content development.
- Initiates and develops relationships with community organizations and businesses to explore avenues for collaboration with the Rustandy Center, Booth student groups, and alumni.
- Acts as a primary liaison and resource for social impact associated students and select student groups to connect with mentors, speakers, and Rustandy Center support for their social impact programming, courses and case competitions.
- Provides administrative support to other Rustandy Center programs and activities including the Edwardson Social Entrepreneurship Program (ESEP), student competitions, research convenings, and Booth's social impact courses, as needed.
- Gathers actionable information regarding program outreach, quality, and attendance, to evolve portfolio of programs.
- Completes special projects to support Center leadership as needed.
- Uses in-depth knowledge and experience to recommend concepts for programming to leaders of various organizations and programs
- Markets student activities programming throughout the year. Develops and implements protocols for evaluating the effectiveness of programs.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum QualificationsEducation:Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

- Bachelor's degree.
- Master's degree in business or a related field.
Experience:
- At least four years of experience managing programs, events and/or organizations.
- Designing, leading, and delivering social impact programs.
- Background with developing a data strategy.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of Airtable.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in establishing, managing, and continually refining data-related processes and how the program team collects and uses data.
- Demonstrated MS Office expertise (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), web conferencing proficiency, event logistics, and internet researching skills.

Working Conditions
- This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
- Travel between Hyde Park campus and downtown Gleacher Center and flexibility to occasionally work late or start early for Rustandy Center events.
