Job Details:
Position Summary:This position plays an intricate role in establishing and reviewing costing and reporting processes for the Storm Lake farms and feed mill operations. Responsible for the month-end close process, auditing and supporting the fixed asset process flow.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the weekly/monthly costing process for the farms and the feed mill. Able to resolve issues, analyze data/variances and maintain files. Analyzes reports prior to distribution in preparation for later inquiries.
• Supports the budgeting process for the farms and feed mill division.
• Coordinate monthly budget review meetings.
• Performs journal entries for the month end process. Analyzes general ledger variances and resolves issues.
• Completes SOX audits, internal audits and fixed asset accounting.
• Work with the Complex Continuous Improvement Lead and farms personnel in the identification and tracking of cost savings initiatives.
• Understands the farms office structure and the tasks performed by others and their impact to the operation/finance. Aides in resolving issues within the business unit and implements changes.
• Leads projects identified by the Complex Controller or the Director of Live Operations and Procurement.
• Is key corporate and operations contact for the farms/feed mill in the absence of the Complex Controller. Presents self in a professional manner. Actively participates in meetings and engages self in learning and development. Analyzes data and is active in problem resolution.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in accounting preferred with 2+ years of accounting experience in manufacturing or agricultural accounting
• Requires excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Personal computer experience including Microsoft Excel and Word
• This position requires the ability to independently provide problem resolution and analytical thinking. Completes work in a self-directed office environment. Presents self to public/guests in a pleasant and courteous manner. Must work with other departments and farms/feeds/production personnel in a way to promote positive working relationships.

This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local Team Members are not selected, Team Members from other locations and external candidates will then be reviewed for consideration.
