Advanced System Administrator Specialist
Fairfax, VA
Contract Position
$46.70-$51.70 / Hourly
Advanced System Administrator Specialist job in Fairfax, Virginia is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Defense company. In this job you will contribute to state-of-the-art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance systems supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary user interface, troubleshooting technical issues, managing permissions, and installing new software.
- Administer day-to-day operations of physical and virtual servers, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and network interfaces.
- Monitor server performance and apply OS and vendor software patches using industry-standard tools.
- Oversee and manage storage infrastructure across multiple environments, ensuring the integration of hardware and software for reliability and safety.
- Lead architecture and design improvements for Linux storage infrastructure, including system upgrades, migrations, and optimizations.
- Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and document security procedures for new and fielded systems.
- U.S. Citizen with Active Secret Clearance required
- Bachelor's degree, Computer Science or STEM, Master's degree preferred; Equivalent experience considered.
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience (3 years with a Master's degree).
- Expertise in Linux server-based operating systems, including troubleshooting across server OS, networking, and storage environments.
- Proficiency in creating and running automation scripts to streamline processes.
