Advanced Electrical Engineer

Manassas, VA

Contract Position

$52.45-$57.45/Hour

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and design AC-DC and DC-DC power systems and controls.
• Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware functionality.
• Develop test criteria and assist in designing test systems.
• Perform trade studies to determine optimal components and system architectures.
• Design cable assemblies and create PCB designs with corresponding tests.
• Generate design and interface documentation.
• Prepare technical presentations and written communications for program management and Navy customers.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
  Clearance:
  
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
  Experience:
  
  • 5+ years of technical experience in military-grade electronics development.
  • Expertise in engineering development life cycle phases: concept, requirements, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-1399 and MIL-STD-461 design and qualification.
  • Proficiency in designing and debugging switch-mode DC-DC converters, including control loop stability analysis.
  • Skilled in designing and debugging 3-phase AC-DC conversions and transformer designs.
  • Working knowledge of communication interfaces such as RS-422, RS-485, and LVDS.
  • Analog and digital circuit design experience.
  Technical Skills:
  
  • Proficient in PCB design processes, including schematic entry, SPICE analysis, component selection, and signal integrity optimization.
  • Experienced with lab equipment: signal generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, and power analyzers.
  • OrCAD Capture experience preferred.
  • Experience with firmware or microcontrollers is a plus.
  • VHDL/Verilog knowledge is a plus
