Educational and Experience Requirement:Bachelor's degree in a related field. Three years relevant experience related to advanced accounting clerical, bookkeeping, or experience in a related field. Experience in Higher Education is desirable. Experience with Banner Finance preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:Performs advanced administrative support including accounting clerical work such as bookkeeping or other related duties in the Office of Research Administration (ORA).
Primary Responsibilities:Collects, reconciles, and maintains complex financial data. Monitors budgets, accounts, and expenditures. Prepares financial reports. Reviews, edits, and reconciles discrepancies in reports, correspondence, vouchers, journals, ledgers, requisitions, records, and other related forms. Enters and retrieves data from Banner Finance, COGNOS, and Cayuse. Develops, coordinates, and implements assigned processes. Oversees the administrative support for ORA. Reviews, revises, and interprets policies and procedures. Orders and maintains supply inventory. Handles P-Card purchases and monitors expenses. Coordinates and supervises program activities. Conducts research for the preparation and dissemination of information. Coordinates, compiles, and evaluates data received from a variety of sources related to an assigned activity, program, or project. Serves as liaison and maintains contacts with other University departments, students, faculty, staff, alumni, government officials, distinguished guests, vendors, and external constituents. Provides backup for the Finance chart of accounts, approval queues, and other security features. Performs administrative support duties. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Requires detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies and procedures. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement.
Up to 40% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor after 6 months of employment.
