Position Purpose:

Under the direction of the General Manager, this position is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring facility accounting procedures and internal controls that direct the activities of staff toward achievement of division objectives for 2 facilities. The position provides support for all functional areas through financial and management reporting in a timely manner. Works with plant management in developing ongoing business strategy.

Essential Functions:

• Management of general accounting for the business unit ensuring timely, accurate performance of accounting functions.

• Develop, implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures for the plants to control inventory, receivables, payables, and capital assets. Audit compliance to established procedures for internal control.

• Lead and assess the business unit's operating performance by preparing financial plans, monitor expenditures and performance against plan, perform analysis of variances, and help establish action plans to meet financial performance objectives.

• Develop and implement management information systems providing timely and meaningful information for managers, which enable them to effectively manage their functional areas.

• Perform periodic review of Motor Wheel financial statements to ensure compliance with G.A.A.P. and accuracy of financial statements.

• Analyze sales, cost of sales, margins, scrap, overhead and ESMA spending. Analyze and develop inventory valuations, product costing, operation reports, and capital projects.

• Prepare government, division and corporate reports as required.

• Annual Budget and Quarterly forecasting

• Annual Cost Roll (calculating direct labor, variable overhead, and fixed overhead rates)

• Maintain regular attendance.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance required.

• MBA preferred.

• CMA or CPA preferred

Minimum Qualifications

• 8 - 10 years of progressive accounting experience required (in a manufacturing environment).

• 5+ years of supervisory experience preferred.

• Experience with Internal as well as external audit required.

• Experience / knowledge in costing methods (e.g. standard cost, activity-based costing)

• Familiarity with automated costing/inventory systems (e.g. ERP)

• Experience in budget/forecast development and analysis

• Solid P.C. skills (Excel, Word)

• Strong written and verbal presentation skills

• Experience with consolidation software preferred

Physical Demands

• Frequent sitting, work at computer for extended periods of time.

• Travel overnight as required - up to 20%.

• Exposure to manufacturing setting.
